Learning at Home Must Haves

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR
FIVE | SIX | SEVEN | EIGHT

The kids (especially Emma) love to learn! So they learn at home with me until they get old enough to go to school.

Emma has always been a Smarty Pants, and has always love to learn new things, homegirl is already reading! And Owen is showing more interest lately so I’ve been taking advantage.

I wanted to share some of my favorite things we use at home, from furniture to apps, check them out!

ONE
First in the list is this awesome easel from Delta Children.
It’s double sided with a white board on one side, and a chalkboard on the other side. It comes with a roll of paper as well, and 2 baskets for storage.
I love using this board to teach the kids their letters, numbers, shapes and colors, and to work on sight words with Emma.

TWO
The second thing on the list is one of my all time favorite apps ever – Khan Academy Kids!
Not only is the app amazing, but it is also completely FREE!
You can set up separate profiles for each child and they will complete lessons that go with their age and learning level.

THREE
Number 3 is an app called Vooks – the kids love it! They animate and read books out loud for you.
You can learn more about it by checking out THIS blog post that I wrote about them!

FOUR
These little desks are so great! I love that the kids get their own personal space for learning instead of having to share one table – which can be frustrating – cue the “he’s touching my stuff, his book is on my side of the table!” no thanks! LOL!

FIVE
This cart was made into the kids’ Art Cart! I love that I am able to wheel it around.
I used these containers to space out and sort each item, like markers, crayons, colored pencils, glue, scissors and more.

SIX
These pencils are literally the BEST! I requested them by name every year when I taught second grade! The wide pencil makes it much easier for the kids’ little fingers to hold, and this brand is amazing and the tips never break easily!

SEVEN
This is an amazing bundle to start off your Art Cart!
It comes with so many different art supplies and Crayola is just the bomb!
It has everything you need for some easy arts and crafts.

EIGHT
This letters and board set is awesome to practice words.
The letters all have their own personal slots, and the boards are magnetic so the letters stick on while your little ones are making up words!

I hope you liked these recommendations – as always feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or would like some help and advice on teaching your little ones from home!
