Quarantine has me feeling inspired to create and change things around the house.
One thing I really wanted to work on was an Art Cart for the kids.
Although #EmmaAndOwensPlayroom has never looked messier (I literally just cleaned up this area for this photo) due to us all being stuck at home all day every day, one thing I’ve been having to do is be extra creative when it comes to the kids. 👧🏻🌈👦🏻
I got this cart from mDesign along with the organizers you see in there holding all their supplies, and made the kids an Art Cart! 🎨
They love their Art Cart so much and I love that it has wheels so I can roll it around the house – that includes rolling it to the garage to hide it from the kids when they’re making a mess with it, lol! 🤪
When I posted this photo on Instagram I got comments like these:
“How how how markets paint white white room 😳🤯”
“You are a very brave person letting kids art and crafts over white carpet.”
“You expect me to believe your kids play with liquid paint over a white rug? 😐”
“This whole picture gives me anxiety. All that white with art supplies 😮. No way 😬”
Anyway, you get the idea.. People are totally judging me or not believing that this is how the kids’ playroom looks lol!
So I wanted to address those comments in case you stumble upon this post and didn’t see my reply to those comments.
First of all, I am not clueless – I know that white & kids = messy!
I do not have high standards for their playroom as it is THEIR room!
Yes, I decorate it with white furniture because I love the look, but at the same time you won’t see me in that room 20 times a day trying to clean up every mess or spill.
I know that by having white furniture in a kids’ playroom I am risking the mess, and that is something that is ok with me.
Second of all, every single art supply in that cart is WASHABLE!
If they happen to color on the couch with a marker I just have to grab a Magic Eraser and scrub it off.
And third – it’s my home! I can decorate it however I want to, lol!
Ok, now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the Art Cart!
