Animal ABC Book Made Easy with The Cricut Maker

I’ve shared before about how having a Cricut makes life as a Homeschool Mom so much easier, and today I wanted to share one of the cutest projects we have been doing here – an Animal ABC Book!

This post is sponsored by Cricut but all words and opinions are my own!

With my Cricut Maker I can easily cut out all the letters of the alphabet and the little pieces each letter will need to become an animal!

Here are the materials you will need:

A Cricut Machine
A Light Grip Cricut Cutting Mat
A Cricut Trimmer
A Cricut Brayer
Different Colored Cardstock Paper
White Cardstock Paper
A Marker
Glue
Googly Eyes – Optional

I use Cricut Design Space to create the Letter Animals and I use the font Cricut Sans for all of the letters, and then I use a mixture of shapes and images to create the animals!

After designing my animal, I use my Cricut Trimmer to cut up the pieces of cardstock colors I need, and I stick the cardstock paper on the Light Grip Cricut Cutting Mat using my Cricut Brayer for the perfect smooth stick.

Finally, I load up my Cricut Maker with the Light Grip Cricut Cutting Mat – that is the best mat for cardstock because it has the perfect amount of stickiness to hold the cardstock in place, and allow for removal without ripping!

Pro Tip – If you have multiple mats, you can work even faster by putting the different colored cardstock pieces you need so when the next cutting color is up you just unload the one you just cut, and load the next while you remove the first one!

I captured the making of letters A-F for this post, but here is the list of all the animals we are making:

A is for Alligator
B is for B
C is for Cat
D is for Duck
E is for Elephant
F is for Fox
G is for Goat
H is for Hippo
I is for Iguana
J is for Jellyfish
K is for Kangaroo
L is for Lion
M is for Mouse
N is for Narwhal
O is for Octopus
P is for Penguin
Q is for Quail
R is for Racoon
S is for Snake
T is for Tiger
U is for Unicorn
V is for Vulture
W is for Worm
X is for X-Ray Fish
Y is for Yak
Z is for Zebra

This is one of my favorite end of the year projects and the kids love it too! Although all the animal letters will be put into a 3-ring binder with protective sheets and made into a book, right now the kids like displaying them in our Homeschool Classroom!

This is a very time consuming project made extra easy with a Cricut Maker Machine!
I am so glad to be able to have more time to lesson plan and be creative, knowing that thanks to my Cricut Maker I don’t have to waste time cutting little pieces of paper over and over again.

If you are a Homeschool Mama or a Crafty Mama, the Cricut Maker is definitely for you!
