Discovery Cove – you have our hearts!
WOW! Wow is what we said all day as we explored Discovery Cove this past weekend.
It was our very first time there and it was 100X more amazing than we could have ever expected! Discovery Cove is a whole experience, and we truly cannot stop raving about it, and we cannot wait to be back!
Ask the kids and they will tell you that visiting Discovery Cove is one of the best trips they have ever taken! One of my favorite things is that reservations are required to visit, and attendance is limited in order to provide a more intimate, resort-like experience so you and your family can get right into the action without waiting in line at the lagoons and waterways throughout the park.
You can relax in the large resort pool and swim along a tropical river, snorkel with tropical fish and rays in The Grand Reef®, swim beside otters in the Freshwater Oasis®, or hand-feed parrots, toucans, and other exotic birds in the free flight Explorer’s Aviary!
Your day at Discovery Cove includes so much! Like unlimited food, snacks and beverages, which we took advantage of check out this photo of the kids with our big lunch feast! Everything was fresh and delicious!
Discovery Cove is happy to accommodate all dietary needs, serving up fresh seafood and vegetarian dishes while providing allergy friendly recommendations.
Since it was our first visit we wanted to make sure to take advantage of everything!
But we also wanted to enjoy our AMAZING cabana!
Having a private cabana is an awesome added bonus, and I highly recommend getting one, especially if you have kids!
It was so nice to have our own little private spot to relax, hide from the sun for a bit, and best of all watch the dolphins play!
One of the top items on my Bucket List was to swim with the dolphins, and although this was my second time doing it, it was just as amazing as the first! Ahhhh! I’m still smiling from the whole experience!
I could have stayed with the dolphins all day!
Marea was the dolphin we got to interact with, and I wanted to take her home with me! She was so sweet and extremely adorable!
Watching the trainers with all of the dolphins was amazing, and I seriously got emotional! You can see how much they love and respect each other. Those dolphins are so spoiled and taken care of, which is so important!
If you’re planning on visiting Discovery Cove (you 100% SHOULD!!!) then seriously consider adding the dolphin experience to your day! You will not regret it, I loved every minute of it!
Thanks to their photo package I get to have these images to look back at and hold me over until the kids turn 6 and I can take them to do it too!
One of our favorite part about the day was getting to float around in the Wind-Away River’s lazy river.
We loved just being silly with each other and seeing all the beautiful sights! We even got to go inside a cave!
I ended up putting a vest on so I could float around with the kids – I love that they have a bunch of different sizes available, so no matter how big or small you are, you can borrow a vest.
When visiting Discovery Cove all you need to do is show up with a bathing suit and change of clothes, no packing a bunch of things because they have basically everything you need!
