Day 1 of our trip was spent at Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, Magic Kingdom is the best park for young children because most of their rides are baby and pregnant mom friendly. It is also hands down Emma’s favorite park.
Magic Kingdom has a ton of character meet and greet opportunities, which Emma really loves. If we spent the whole day just meeting Princesses and characters, her day would be made! 🙂
We started the day a little later than usual. We had gotten up to Orlando late the night before so we slept in for a bit. I also had FINALLY gotten Fast Passes for The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train which wasn’t until 10:45PM so I was determined to stay at the park until I rode that ride, LOL! My husband was not happy, but there was no way I was missing out on that ride!
The first ride we went on was It’s a Small World. That is Emma’s favorite ride and that is the ride I always HAVE to make sure she gets on. We wore our It’s a Small World matching outfits from ARRose Co, and they were a hit! Our custom Minnie Ears were made by my sweet friend Heather, who owns Wildflowers and Wander.
Emma got to meet Peter Pan for the first time ever. She actually recognized him because Jaime has been reading Peter Pan to her at night, and we also showed her the movie – which she didn’t seem too interested in. Regardless she was excited to meet Peter Pan!
The park was PACKED! It was really hard to make plans, especially when the wait times were ridiculous. Our group consisted of our little family (me, Jaime, Emma & Owen), my parents and my best friend Amanda and her boyfriend Brian. We are all Annual Passholders, and go to Disney often, so for us it wasn’t worth standing in the long lines, we pretty much only did what we had Fast Passes for.
One quick tip for Fast Passes – split them up and use Child Swap! Also, book them ASAP! You can book your fast passes 30 days in advance or 60 days in advance if you stay in a Disney Resort Hotel. In our case we only have the 30 day option since we usually do not stay in a Disney Hotel, so I have to get what I can as soon as I can.
We mostly walked around the park, enjoying the little shows and parades. We got to watch their Festival of Fantasy Parade front row! We had fast passes to see Mickey so we started heading that way when we noticed that the parade was about to begin. I found a nice spot and this sweet couple let me put our stroller in front of them so the kids could watch the parade. Owen was interested and Emma was loving it. She was soooo excited to see Rapunzel! We have been putting the movie for her a lot lately so she recognizes and likes Rapunzel a lot! She was also very excited to see Minnie and Mickey too.
After the parade we went to see Mickey – it’s so cool because he talks! We had never gotten to see the talking Mickey before, and Emma loved it! She couldn’t stop talking about him after our visit. 🙂
The rest of the day was pretty “chill” we went into PhilharMagic which the kids liked! Emma watched it with the 3D glasses on the whole time and Owen was sleeping in the Tula but woke up and refused to wear the glasses so he just watched the show seeing double, lol!
We waited until it was time to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and then we finally went back to the hotel!
We had such a great first day! 🙂
